The MAN Cave

I found a room in our garage that was designed to be a workshop, but it was empty except for a few things that were being stored. Recalling some conversations in the beauty shop with former clients, I remembered the whole discussion about husbands not wanting to leave their homes for apartment living. The thought of giving up their garage space was just too much!

Why couldn’t we re-purpose that storage space, I thought… and make it a “workshop” of sorts so that the men at Glendale Place could have there own space to work on projects they enjoyed? I went to work to get the needed permissions. As the word spread in the building, interested men and women began to donate items that could help furnish the new workshop.

The Savage Fire Safety Inspector came to make sure we would be in compliance with all codes and regulations. Our management company gave permission to buy some tables and lighting fixtures. We moved an unused tool bench in and the date for a Grand Opening was set.

I had beverages and treats ready and the turnout was fantastic! Neighbors had fun visiting and we took lots of pictures. Only interested people use the workshop, but when I show our building to prospective residents, I call it the Man Cave.
