“Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” Not, your going to be freed, or your freedom is beginning right now, but rather you ARE freed from your sickness.

Today, we hear Jesus speak to her……

Luke 13: 10-17

Verse 12     And when Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.”

“Woman, you are freed from your sickness.”

You are freed from your sickness.  Not, your going to be freed, or your freedom is beginning right now, but rather you ARE freed from your sickness.  Remember that this sickness which bound her for 18 years was caused by a Satan.  It’s interesting to me that He does not address Satan or the spirit involved at all in this instance.  In some other cases He does, but here He simply speaks the truth that is Gods plan for her life and Satan is rendered powerless to stand in the way or to put forth any argument at all.

16    “And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?”

She is granted freedom from a bond of sickness.  Jesus took the initiative and freed her from a bond that held her captive, even while she assumed her place in the house of worship as one of the daughters of Abraham.  The only thing she did to facilitate this miraculous healing was to get herself into position before God as best she knew how.  It’s also doubtful that she has any idea that the author of her infirmity was Satan.  How would she or anyone else know that?  Only Jesus was aware of that detail, and it was His mission to destroy Satan’s work among Gods people.  I am certain that such is also true today.

What is it that has your bent over, unable to straighten up at all?  What is it that has your feeling bound?  Where is the place in you that longs for freedom?

I suggest that you get yourself near to Gods people, those who are trying to serve and honor Him.
I suggest that you participate in the worship of the true and living God on the day set aside for His honor.
I suggest that you ask this same Jesus Christ to notice, know and completely understand your imprisonment
I suggest that you expect Him to call you away from where you are, over to where He is.
I suggest that you expect Him to change you and free you from the bondage of the evil one.

Lord,  Look upon all those who read these words today.  You know them and love each one.  You understand the bondage and suffering that has been inflicted by Satan in our lives.  Speak Your words.  Speak Gods plans for each one Lord.  Silence and destroy the works of the enemy of our souls even among Your own loved ones…… I pray.  Amen
